HOW TO PERFORM SYSTEM RESTORE IN WINDOWS 7
With System restore option, you can actually roll back your computer to an earlier state when it worked fine-This state is known as a restore point. Usually the computer automatically creates a restore point where you can always roll back to whenever you wish.
There are several ways you can restore your system to an earlier working state.
Learn how to create a restore point here.
If you can still boot into windows:
On the start menu, click control panel > system and Security > System > System Protection.

Alternatively, right click My Computer (Win 7) or Computer (Win 8) > system Protection.
From system protection> click System restore > Recommended restore (this one is the default and it’s the most recent restore point).
This same method applies in safe mode
Note that any software installed after the selected restore point will be lost.
If you can’t boot into windows:
Another method is to use the advance boot option; you can access this by tapping F8 repeatedly during start up.
Using the arrow keys select Repair Your Computer >Press ENTER
Set your language >Click Next
Click Restore >System Restore >Next –the default choice is the most recent restore point.
To choose a different restore point, check show more restore points box, then click a restore point >Next > Finish > Yes –The restore process begins. Once finished your computer restarts.
If you cant access this option, you can simply enter safe mode from here.
Again, any software installed after the selected restore point will be lost.
